Sinclair Ferguson Named Distinguished Visiting Scholar

January 14, 2020

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Sinclair Ferguson back to Westminster this spring as a Distinguished Visiting Scholar of Systematic Theology. He will teach courses on Doctrine of God and Doctrine of Salvation, and deliver the Spring 2020 Convocation Address on February 5.

Dr. Ferguson previously held the Charles Krahe Chair for Systematic Theology at Westminster, and has returned often through the years, most recently in 2018, addressing graduates during Commencement, and as a plenary speaker at the Westminster Conference on Preaching and Preachers. In addition to having served as pastor at St. George’s Tron Church in Glasgow, and First Presbyterian Church of Columbia, SC, Dr. Ferguson is Chancellor’s Professor of Systematic Theology at Reformed Theological Seminary. His books include Some Pastors and Teachers, The Holy Spirit, and The Whole Christ.

Joining Dr. Ferguson as visiting instructors this spring are Dr. Nathaniel Gray Sutanto (MAR, WTS; PhD, University of Edinburgh) teaching Doctrine of Christ, and Dr. David Filson (PhD, WTS) teaching Principles of Apologetics. Dr. Sutanto ministers in Jakarta, Indonesia, and recently translated several works by Herman Bavinck. Dr. Filson ministers in Nashville, TN, and serves as Westminster’s Director of Alumni Engagement.

Please join us in giving thanks for these gifted teachers, and in praying for God’s blessing on their ministry at Westminster in 2020.
