In 1969, the famed Welsh preacher Martyn Lloyd-Jones was invited to Westminster to speak about pastoral ministry. The lectures that he delivered were then published as the book Preaching & Preachers, and have had an astonishing impact on the church of Christ in the 50 years since.
To celebrate that anniversary, the Westminster Conference on Preaching and Preachers focused on the preaching legacy of Martyn Lloyd-Jones during this year’s events. Hundreds of pastors, church leaders and students joined us here on a rainy weekend to hear powerful messages from guest speakers Jason Meyer, Kevin DeYoung, Stafford Carson and Harry Reeder.
Despite the rain, and despite the logistical challenges posed by our campus revitalization, the conference was an astonishing success. Most encouraging of all were the reports from a number of men who felt the internal calling of God to enter pastoral ministry.
