Westminster Welcomes Rev. John Currie

Westminster Theological Seminary is pleased to announce the appointment of Reverend John Currie to the position of Professor of Practical Theology beginning June 1, 2018. Rev. Currie currently serves as Senior Pastor of Redeemer Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Ada, Michigan.

Rev. Currie has more than 20 years of pastoral experience as well as several years of experience teaching in an academic setting. Before serving as the Senior Pastor at Redeemer OPC, Currie served as a youth pastor at Cranbrook Alliance Church (Cranbrook, British Columbia, Canada), as the senior pastor of Grand Prairie Alliance Church (Grand Prairie, Alberta, Canada), as an Instructor in Bible and Theology at Peace River Bible Institute, and as the pastor of Cornerstone OPC in Ambler, PA.

In 2004, Rev. Currie graduated from Westminster Theological Seminary with an MAR in Theological Studies. He has been an ordained minister in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church since 2005. Before moving to Ada, Michigan to serve at Redeemer OPC, Rev. Currie lectured in Practical Theology at Westminster from 2006 to 2013.

This May, Rev. Currie plans to graduate from Westminster with his Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Ministry. His capstone project is titled, “The Proclamational Leader: A Seminar for Working Pastors.

Rev. Currie has been married to his wife, Rhonda, for 31 years. He has two married children, Joshua and Ben, and four grandchildren.
