CBC Job Description Director of Youth
Position: Director of Youth (DY)
Responsibilities: The Director of Youth oversees ministry for teenage students grades 7 through 12.
The DY will insure a safe and pleasant environment for the attending teenagers and volunteer helpers. To help students develop their personal relationship with Christ, to reach out to both non-believing students and other Christians.
Ministry for the youth is primarily evening and weekend events.
The DY will manage, recruit, train and coordinate all schedules and teaching materials for their volunteer helpers.
The DY will obtain approval of all teaching materials and develop a yearly plan for the program in conjunction with the Staff Supervisor.
The DY will manage the annual Youth budget and approve all purchases for the youth program.
Accountability: The Director of Youth is accountable to and reports directly to the Staff Supervisor.
Qualifications: The DY must have a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Be an active member of CBC in good standing.
Have the ability to manage time, people, and finances.
Must possess tactful people skills, allowing them to interact well with parents, volunteers and teenagers.
Must have the ability to guide and train Youth group leaders.
Must have the ability to develop strong relationships with teens and their parents.
Must have computer literacy.
All CBC workers shall submit to a police record check and attend an child/adult CPR/first aid class.
Able to commit for 1 year of service.
Must maintain professional appearance and conduct.
Support provided: Weekly planning and support meeting held by the Staff Supervisor.
Personnel performance evaluations with feed back at 6-month intervals. Participation in a personal and program evaluation after each year of service.
Tuition paid for by the church for any training or continuing education that has been approved by the Staff Supervisor.
Reimbursement for mileage and out of pocket expenses while engaging in youth ministry.
Administrative support by the administrative assistant for calendars, letters, mailings, etc.
Office supplies, work area, phone, computer provided by CBC.
Benefits: 3 month Probation period
Pension Plan starts after 1 year
Vacation: 1st year 2 week, 5th year 3 weeks, 10th year 4 weeks, 20th year 5 weeks

Position qualifications:
We are looking for someone that has a demonstrated effectiveness in growing youth in
faith and in number.
Someone with a track record of working well with the senior Pastor and other
ministry leaders of the church as a team player or is currently involved in fruitful youth ministry where God is at work and where the Youth Director's relational gifts are evident.
Someone who utilizes a ministry model that emphasizes significant involvement
of youth with leadership responsibilities within the youth ministry.
And can provide references to verify all parameters.

This is currently at 30 hour per week position that could evolve into full time.
