Name of organization:
Becks Reformed Church
Description of organization:
Becks Reformed Church is one of the oldest German Reformed Churches in North Carolina. For over 225 years, Becks Reformed Church has faithfully observed the Bible centered traditions and beliefs of the historic German Reformed Church. We presently operate as an independent, unaffiliated congregation.
While a church cannot live in the past, history does record the very foundation of Becks Reformed Church, both physically and spiritually. However, it is upon this strong spiritual foundation that Becks Reformed Church continues to grow, physically and spiritually, and follow Jesus’ command to spread the Gospel. Becks Reformed Church stands strongly rooted in Biblical Christian values and Reformed traditions, but maintains a vision to the future. This vision strives to give hope and comfort in an ever-changing world and it is ever reforming to the teachings of Jesus Christ as found in the Word of God.
Throughout the decades, Becks Reformed Church has affirmed the Bible as the inerrant, infallible and inspired Word of God and Jesus is heralded as Lord and Savior. We further believe in the Sovereignty of God and hold as truth the basic Christian beliefs as summarized in the Apostles Creed and explained in depth through the Heidelberg Catechism.
Becks Reformed Church has a traditional worship service and a contemporary worship service each Sunday. We also provide many other activities and programs throughout the week for the spiritual enrichment of the congregation and the community. We are particularly proud of our Youth Program which, under the leadership of a dedicated, energetic Christian full-time Youth Director, is experiencing dramatic growth, reaching not only the youth of the church but youth from throughout the area as well.
Becks Reformed Church, with a membership of approximately 500 and averaging about 250 each Sunday, is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic full-time Senior Pastor. In addition to the typical pastoral responsibilities, the Senior Pastor must be willing to provide pastoral leadership by helping us articulate and engage God’s particular vision for our ministry. The Senior Pastor must also be willing to provide administrative leadership and work in partnership with our full-time Youth Director, part-time Music Director, and other church staff, as well as the Deacons and Elders.
