Despite some laws that allow people to carry firearms in public, Westminster Theological Seminary prohibits anyone from possessing or carrying weapons of any kind on seminary property, in seminary vehicles, or personal vehicles at any seminary function on or off campus, or while on seminary business. This includes the following:
- Any form of weapon or explosive;
- All firearms;
- All pneumatic firing devices; and
- All illegal knives or knives with blades that are more than six inches in length
Employees are responsible for making sure that any item they possess is not prohibited by this policy. Only commissioned law enforcement officers and persons in the military in performance of their official duties, to the extent these parties are legally permitted to possess weapons in the Commonwealth of PA, are permitted to possess weapons on property owned or controlled by Westminster Theological Seminary or at any seminary-sponsored event.
